On 2nd October 2014 at Rajpath in New Delhi- Swachh Bharat Mission was initiated by Shri Narendra Modi, he said “A clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150 birth anniversary in 2019”. To accelerate the efforts to achieve universal sanitation coverage and to put focus on sanitation, the Prime Minister of India launched this Swachh Bharat Mission. The mission is bifurcated into sub-missions as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan under Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Urban), under Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. It includes ambassadors and activities such as a run, national real-time monitoring and updates from NGOs.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India. Shri Narendra Modi led a cleanliness pledge at India Gate, which about thirty lakh government employees across the country joined. He also flagged off a walkathon at Rajpath and surprised people by joining in not just for a token few steps, but marching with the participants for a long way. It is India’s largest ever cleanliness drive with 3 million government employees, especially school and college students from all parts of India, participating in the campaign. The objectives of Swachh Bharat are to reduce or eliminate open defecation through the construction of individual, cluster and community toilets.
While leading the mass movement for cleanliness, the Prime Minister exhorted people to fulfil Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a clean and hygienic India. Shri Narendra Modi himself initiated the cleanliness drive at Mandir Marg Police Station. Picking up the broom to clean the dirt, making Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a mass movement across the nation, the Prime Minister said people should neither litter, nor let others litter. He gave the mantra of ‘Na gandagi karenge, Na karne denge.’ Shri Narendra Modi also invited nine people to join the cleanliness drive and requested each of them to draw nine more into the initiative.
Green-O-Tech India is supporting Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, initiated by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Green-O-Tech India’s working with the mission of “One step towards waste to wealth”. Green-O-Tech India started in 2010 as waste recycling service provider and in last 7 years they had served more than 500 Govt. departments, corporate, educational institutions and individuals through their services of waste to wealth. Green-O-Tech India is providing waste recycling services for waste paper and wood. Still in India awareness about Waste Paper Recycling and Waste Wood Recycling is very low. When Green-O-Tech India had put its first step in this sector in the year of 2010 there was no such service provider available in the market because people were not much aware about waste paper recycling and its impact on environment. Even people though that the quality of recycle products is very poor, not durable and not usable. Corporate were not willing to take such initiative because as per then the quality of recycle products is poor and stationery is not as per their standard which they were using. One other major problem was from where this waste paper gets recycled because paper mill were not will to take such low quantity. Green-O-Tech India had to build small warehouse for the same so that we store waste paper there and after that we send it to mills for recycling.
As per their service model they collect waste paper and get recycled the same into daily uses Recycle Stationery Products like Files, Note Pads/ Book, Pens etc. They are offering these Recycle stationery products free of cost to their clients. Along with that recycling of every 100 Kg waste paper Green-O-Tech India planting a TREE free of cost for their client’s “Green Initiative”. In 2014 Green-O-Tech India entered in the Waste Wood Recycling sector and become one of leading service provider for waste wood recycling.
Mr. Prashant Rana founded Green-O-Tech India said “I never thought this small initiative of waste to wealth honored with such awards. I specially thank Skoch Swachh Bharat Award for such initiative which always motives our kinds of initiatives. Also I like congratulate Green-O-Tech team who are behind this achievement.”
As per Mr. Rana, waste management or recycling is biggest problem in India because till now we don’t have professional companies who are working on it. Still more than 80% waste management sector is totally unorganised and depends upon on unprofessional services providers (Kabadi Wala). As per him still there is huge work to do in waste management or recycling sector but such initiative like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Mission etc. creating the awareness about waste management or recycling.
